"The Man Who Sold the World" a David Bowie classic which ran through my head last week as I watched Elon Musk stand in front of a crowded audience and introduce an affordable electric car for the masses. As I watched the live stream, I couldn't help but think that I was watching history. I was face to face with the man who may not have sold the world but instead changed it forever.
Elon Musk on March 31st unveiled the new TESLA Model 3. With 115,000 pre-orders in the first 24 hours, for a car that won’t be delivered for almost two years, appears to have changed the automotive industry and quite possibly the world by accelerating sustainable transport.
How to Order a TESLA MODEL 3
TESLA released a blog with exact instructions on how to reserve and pre-order your Model 3. Basically, there are two ways to make a reservation:
- Go directly to your local TESLA showroom; this will likely give you a slight advantage and put your reservation ahead in the queue. If you are unsure where your local TESLA showroom is, you can find it here.
- Make a reservation online at TESLA.com.
Thw Model 3, as you well know after hearing the unveil on March 31st, will begin production in late 2017.
When production begins, in late 2017, deliveries will start from the west coast - where facilities are currently located - and continue across the country heading east.

Importance of Accelerating Sustainable Transport
Why does TESLA exist; why are they making electric cars? Elon Musk answers these question with the following simple statement,
“This is really important for the future of the world"
With record levels of carbon concentration, increasing climate change, and an MIT study noting 53,000 deaths a year being attributed to auto emissions, the time to accelerate sustainable transport is now.
At first glance, the long lines for TESLA's Model 3 were visible throughout the world from Montreal, Zurich, and Australia, and are only intensifying and igniting the possibilities of what the automotive industry future will look like.
And maybe we will ask ourselves in the future where we were on March 31st - the day Elon Musk changed the world.
