New Car Technology 2015Technology is always rapidly developing, and automakers are increasingly taking advantage of the trend. Many of the new 2015 models are using the sort of technology that would have been hard to imagine in a vehicle only ten years ago.

At GGBailey.com, we make custom fit car mats that you can custom design and personalize yourself. Because we continuously research the new cars, trucks and SUVs coming onto the market, we also like to keep up with all the developing technology. Like our Design Your Car Mats™ tool, new car technology is allowing drivers to get a more personal experience from their vehicles.

We have picked three areas of technological improvement to discuss below. Check out the details to see what consumers can expect in the new 2015 models. And remember, we can make custom fit car mats for all makes and models, so whether you want to custom design your floor mats or pick an animal, oriental, camo, or subtle two-tone pattern from our Car Couture™ line, we can make it. If you don't see your new car listed in our drop down menus, use this form to to let us know so we can make a custom pattern to fit your new car.

2015 Audi A8 car matsSafety and driver assistance

More and more vehicles feature technology that helps drivers easily park and systems that can either slow down or stop a vehicle before a crash. The new Audi A8, Ford F-150, and Chrysler 200 are among those that are now including collision avoidance.

To go one step further, Audi now offers a night vision assistance feature with pedestrian detection that can also warn if animals are in the way. The new aluminum F-150 has 360-degree camera that can aid drivers as they navigate tight parking lots.

Mercedes-Benz is upgrading the C-Class with all the safety features of the S-Class, and among those are features that can sound an alarm if the driver is showing signs of being inattentive or becoming drowsy.

Similarly, Toyota and Lexus both use technology now that not only alerts the driver if he or she is leaving a lane, but the vehicle can also correct the error automatically. Combine that with blind spot alerts and adapative cruise control that uses radar to adjust to the speeds of the vehicles around you and you have a very safe way to get around.

2015 Hyundai Genesis car matsTaking cars online

Several vehicles already come equipped with internet access that automatically communicates information about the vehicle to service centers, or simply allows drivers to browse the web. The number of online models is going to increase as more of the 2015 vehicles make it to dealer showrooms.

The new Hyundai Genesis will allow owners to connect to the vehicle using wearable devices. Paired with Hyundai's Blue Link technology, drivers will be able to remote start their car, quickly access vehicle information, and more using their smart phone or wearable devices such as Google Glass.

GMC is equipping the 2015 Canyon with built-in Wi-Fi hotspots, as is Cadillac with its new ATS coupe, which means not only will those vehicles be able to access the internet, but drivers and passengers will be able to connect their phones, tablets, laptops and other devices via the vehicle's signal. The ATS can connect up to seven devices at one time, while the navigation system in the new Audi A8 will connect eight devices to the web at one time.

2015 ford f 150 car matsFuel efficiency

Due to government regulations and consumer demand, automakers have been striving to make vehicles that go farther on fewer gallons of fuel. The technology comes into play because drivers want more efficiency without giving up anything in the performance department, so car makers are inventing new ways of meeting that need.

The previously mentioned F-150, for example, has a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost with start-stop technology to shut off the engine when the truck is stopped and restart it when the brake is released.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan features a standard nine-speed automatic transmission for an expected 35 miles per gallon on the highway. Its available all-wheel drive system has an automatic fully disconnecting rear axle, which will help improve fuel economy.

Honda is using its Earth Dreams powertrains to improve its miles per gallon ratings too. The Honda Fit's 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine with the continuously variable transmission is aiming to get mileage of up to 33 city/41 highway/36 combined.

All this new car technology means the 2015 models will be an exciting addition to the automotive marketplace.
