International Auto Show Preview: The 86th Geneva Motor Show

It’s that time of year again-- the annual Geneva International Motor Show. For all you car enthusiasts who mark their calendars and check off the days until the show is in production, this year’s show is sure to delight you and peek all of your automotive needs.

Last year's show debuted some of the most unique and powerful concept and production cars including some must have car accessories for a polished look.

Of the many cars and concepts on display at last years show the car that generated some of the most buzz was the Rinspeed Budii, an autonomously driving electric vehicle built on the BMW i3. The beautiful concept features specially designed all-weather car mats created by Racemark International, the parent company of GGBailey.

The car mats are made from the same materials as the door and dash panels to incorporate better styling trends and ensure high durability and stain resistance. There is also a prototype of the mats that includes a heater to warm the car and the occupants' feet during the winter.

Like the previous shows, the 86th Geneva International Motor Show will take place this March from the 3rd through the 13th at the Geneva Palexpo.

You can watch the live build-up of this year's show and see all the intricacies from start to finish. The annual Geneva International Motor Show is one of the top five motor industry events and is expected to show over 900 cars from the leading manufacturers.

There are an estimated 700,000 attendees and over 10,000 media representatives to recap all the exciting designs of the show.

Exciting Extras and Exhibits

There’s more to look at other than the latest and upcoming automotive designs at this show. There will be coach builders, designers and accessories.

TAG Heuer is a racing enthusiast and will have a special racing exhibition at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show. This special exhibit will feature:

5 racing simulators
A mini circuit with electric cars
An open bar
Two VIP lounges
A large screen and a container with the new “Oculous Rift” presenting the history of Carrera

Fun Fact: Racemark International was the first company to distribute TAG Heuer in the United States.

The Winner Goes To...

Each Geneva International Motor Show has selected a Car of the Year based on the ones displayed and presented at the show. Some of the cars in the running for Car of the Year 2016 are:

The Sections

With so much excitement, exhibitions, stands and anticipation for this show, it can be easy to get sidetracked when trying to keep up with all the main events and sections that will be there. There are seven sections that are going to be available to the attendees, including:

Motor Cars and chassis with 3,4, or more wheels, electric vehicles and alternative powered automobiles
Motor, concept and refined cars with special bodywork

Workshop installations for repair, storage and maintenance of motor cars

Exhibitions including animations and attractions

Green Preview

The number of electric cars, hybrids, and other green models at this years Geneva Auto Show will be outstanding. From Honda, Lexus, Volkswagen and Toyota not to mention a number of unique concept cars from the International stage never been seen before.
